Introduction
The selection process for the most appropriate journal article began in May of 2013. My focus was to display the rationale for extended infusion antibiotics. Many of my colleagues had expressed displeasure with having to infuse the same antibiotic for one patient over 30 minutes and another patient for 4 hours. My research revealed many suitable journal articles and a couple of them were presented to the unit educator. They turned out to not be suitable for a journal club for one reason or another. Several debates occurred over determining the level of evidence of a couple more journal articles. Finally, the perfect article was recovered and the application process began.

Evaluation summary
The course was very well received. All the questions that staff members have been wondering about continuous and bolus dosing of antibiotics were answered. I feel confident that they will disseminate this information to all the members of the Pulmonary Unit team. The extensive research that I performed to obtain this article really paid dividends. It seemed as though I was an expert in this specific field. The reading and evaluating of so many journal articles over the past couple of months created a level of preparation that speaks for itself on the evaluation forms.
